Big Data Analytics Workshop

February 25, 2014 in Austin, TX

Research teams across the United States are working to mine big data sets with technologies like Hadoop. However, traditional analytics tools aren't designed for the diversity and size of these big data sets. Exporting data sets can be a challenge since they can be too large to move out of Hadoop to in-memory analytics stores.

Hunk™: Splunk Analytics for Hadoop enables organizations to detect patterns and find anomalies across terabytes or petabytes of raw data stored in Hadoop without specialized skill sets, fixed schemas or months of development. Using Hunk, you can experience dramatic improvements in the speed and simplicity of getting insights from data that resides in Hadoop.

Hunk: Splunk Analytics for Hadoop can be leveraged in various research fields, for example:

  • Detecting anomalies in large volumes of images
  • Detecting information security anomalies
  • Detecting statistical anomalies in data
  • Fraud detection in business data
  • Risk modeling
  • Consumer preference analysis
  • Logistical analysis
  • Analysis of patient medical devices
  • Processing genome data

Please join us and participate in a workshop to better understand what is possible with Splunk software.

Audience:
Researchers, Business Analysts, Developers, Data Scientists, Enterprise Architects

Session Coordinators:
Greg Lesniewicz, Splunk
Cam Beasley, Chief Information Security Officer, University of Texas at Austin
